Graphic Design is a course that explores graphic communication through the understanding of the elements and principles of design; as well as, the design process, from idea development through the final execution of a document. Professionals use the concepts explored in this course in the following disciplines: advertising, graphic design, web design, illustration, broadcast design, photography and game design and many others. Assessment will be based upon a rubric that takes into consideration effort, technical understanding and creative use of resources for the completion of various assignments using PhotoShop CS5 and InDesign CS5.The Graphic Design student will be required to design for focus and flow, achieve balance by inserting and modifying graphics as well as using special characters to create a graphic design published document throughout the semester. The end product may consist of creating a logo, business card, an advertisement, flyer, brochure, newsletter and designing publications for their digital portfolios.The graphic design course syllabus is designed to teach about the different software, tools, and techniques used to create visually appealing content. Students are equipped with knowledge of branding, design, composition, and layouts through the subjects like typography, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Design Management, etc. The combination of different Graphic Design subjects, projects, and electives depends on the type of graphic design course. BDes Graphic Design and MDes Graphic Design are the two most popular Graphic Design Courses in India. The important subjects included in a Graphic Design course are interaction design, communication & media theory, typography, digital tools, illustration, etc.This course combines design principles and software, typography, digital illustration, digital imaging, page layout, and prepress techniques with a focus on design processes from the point of visualization to production. Students will be responsible for the design and production of a campaign consisting of projects, including several components across multiple media forms. Individual and collaborative work is expected, including branding and packaging, as well as creating prototypes for interactive media. Each student is responsible for designing products, critique and feedback, and creating a portfolio and presentation.

It focuses on key design and illustration concepts through the study of subjects such as design, media, typography, digital tools, photography, grids, and layouts, and might include seminars, projects, and internships.Graphic Design syllabus focuses on Graphic Design subjects in more detail through the study of subjects like history and overview of the design, visual design, motion graphics, UI/UX, data interpretation, printing and publication methods, etc.Graphic Design is all around us! Words and pictures—the building blocks of graphic design—are the elements that carry the majority of the content in both the digital world and the printed world. As graphic design becomes more visible and prevalent in our lives, graphic design as a practice becomes more important in our culture.The focus of practical part will be on designing software e.g. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Different exercises related to online market requirements will be assigned to the trainees. So that they can work professionally in online market.
