Describe sound practice in the areas of recruitment, selection, training, performance
appraisal, remuneration, and retention.
Apply knowledge of HRM to critique existing HR practices in a client organization and
to develop improved practices and tools to suit the client’s specific needs.
A major component of the course is the execution of an active learning HR consultancy
project. This project allows student groups the opportunity to investigate many of the
functional HR activities that we discuss in class, make professional recommendations to a
real organization, and obtain practical experience with HRM issues and activities.
