? Explain the main concepts and principles used for understanding and analysis
problems related to environmental and water resources engineering e.g
energy balance, risk assessment, transport processes, water resources, design parameters,
etc..
? Apply scientific and engineering principles to quantitative environmental analysis
systems eg environmental sampling design and data analysis.
? Design of processes and operations aimed at reducing the effects of air and water pollution
and ground systems.
? Show the environmental impact of the proposed systems and use current
engineering technologies to protect the environment water, air and soil.
? Begin to synthesize and develop solutions to more complex environmental problems.
The course is designed to be an overview of the various areas it covers broadly
environmental engineering. Many of the topics taught are discussed in much more detail in others
fields such as water and waste engineering, hydraulic and water engineering, air
pollution control and solid waste management.
To successfully complete this course, I expect students to be able to understand persistently
and emerging environmental issues and have a good understanding of the material balance
including the ability to solve problems related to material balance. Furthermore, students after by completing this course he should be able to understand the basic considerations of water resources management, water pollution control, water treatment and reclamation, sources of air pollution and solid waste controls and management.
