Issues of ethics, professionalism, cost, viability and common appeal are also important in decision making. It leads to the final thesis project which the students are required to submit at the end of the final semester. The final thesis project is examined for approval by a thesis committee.
This image-based course will introduce graphic design as the foundation upon which effective visual communication is built. Investigation of the elements and principles of graphic design will lead to specific design problems and their solution. The development of ideas and the ability to communicate them effectively will be covered. Discussion of both vector and bitmap-based digital graphic platforms will begin progress toward industry-standard computer proficiency.
Students engage in problem solving with real-world graphic design projects. Focus on creative solutions that effectively use type, image, and layout. Projects include brochure, advertisement, interface, and package design. Creative ideas are explored in sketches, rough layouts, and finished comps. Students learn software skills using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop to complete the graphic design activities in this course.
This course will focus on becoming acquainted with graphic design techniques, principles of page layout
and design, and photo editing. Various software, including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, will
be used in this course.
